Forelle Pear

The name “Forelle” comes from the German word for “trout” due to this pears beautiful colors, reminiscent of the rainbow trout… but we promise there is nothing fishy about this fruit!

These delicious pears are grown by our friends at Duckwall (Hood River Valley, OR), in the shadow of Mount Hood; a 35 year Papas partner.

Forelle Pears are very sweet and somewhat buttery without all the juice and sport a faint but discernible cinnamon spiciness. These pears make an excellent out-of-hand snack or add color and flavor to salads… (though my favorite…) they also pair perfectly with tart cheeses.
