The Nittany Apple is a true PA classic dating back to 1979 when it was cultivated from the “York Imperial” and the “Golden Delicious”. This was cultivated by Penn State and named after one of the most famous mountains we have (right near a certain school with a certain football team…)

This is a tart-sweet apple and wonderful as a kitchen fruit. It bruises very easily making it perfect for snacking or mashing into applesauce.
